xpedx, a wholly-owned division of International Paper, plans to open the xpedx Technology Center at its Loveland headquarters. This will be the only center in the U.S. that gives print professionals the ability to evaluate products from multiple OEMs across all printing functions in a working production environment. "Printers are clear they want to see equipment and print processes in a live production environment," said John Torrey, vice president and general manager of xpedx Printing Technologies. "They want to test-run equipment for themselves. They want to be able to compare products from a variety of manufacturers and choose the technology that will help their businesses grow efficiently and profitably. This new facility will enable print professionals to get the equipment and technology that are the best fit for their operations."
The xpedx Technology Center will combine the company's two print technology centers currently located in Cleveland and Kansas City. Those centers are set to relocate to Loveland by December 2008. The center will be housed within International Paper's global technology center and plans to leverage the printing and paper scientific and R&D expertise of International Paper.
xpedx distributes a wide variety of printing paper, graphics, packaging and janitorial-sanitary maintenance supplies and equipment from manufacturers worldwide. Customers include printers and publishers, manufacturers, retailers, governments and facility managers. xpedx also does business with the majority of Fortune 1000 companies.
The xpedx Technology Center is set to open in January 2009. For more information on xpedx, check out its website.
