Batavia-based Wright Motorsports will enter a 2009 Porsche 911 in the Rolex 24-hour race at prestigious Daytona International Speedway.
The 2009 edition of the Rolex 24, marks John Wright's (founder and owner of Wright Motorsports) 17th season fielding a racecar in this international event. Wright Motorsports has an excellent reputation for preparing top cars for any race it enters. Assisted by a crew of key people, Wright has earned a stellar name as a team owner and race strategist.
Every race is different, but Wright is optimistic about his team's chances in this year's Rolex 24, the 47th running of this event that typically attracts a "who's who" of racecar drivers from other forms of racing like NASCAR and IndyCar.
The white Wright Motorsports racecar will carry the number 33 in the annual twice-around-the-clock event. In addition to national sponsors, the
Motorsports of Cincinnati Country Club, the tri-state area's state-of-the-art country club for motorsports enthusiasts, is an associate sponsor for the event.
The Rolex 24 at Daytona will begin Saturday, January 24 and finish 24 hours later on January 25. FOX Network will broadcast the first 90 minutes of the race, beginning at 3PM ET before the live coverage switches to the SPEED channel on cable networks for the balance of the race.
