Paxico, LLC, a towelette and moist cotton pad manufacturing company in Stonelick Township, has experienced a significant increase in orders for individual hand sanitizing wipes to help combat the spread of the H1N1 virus. An order for 40 million individually packaged wipes was recently placed to meet the increasing need and demand for sanitizing products in the marketplace.
"We have seen some of our product lines decrease with the economy, but the increase in demand for sanitizing products due to H1N1 concerns has been an opportunity for growth for us during these difficult economic times," Bill Kearney, Paxico CEO, said during a recent retention visit.
The company currently has 22 permanent and 19 full-time temporary employees. A warehouse expansion was completed in 2008, and Paxico now has over 26,000 square feet of facility space. "The building expansion has given us the opportunity to go after some larger contracts, now that we have the on-site storage space for supplies and completed products," Paxico business partner, Jackie Schmidt stated.
