Milford High School will be home court to the semi-professional basketball team the Clermont Generals, a team that is part of the Kentucky Basketball Development League (KBDL), for the 2009 season.
Coached by John Hurley, head coach of UC Clermont College, the team is one of eight throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. The KBDL is a minor league system built to develop and train young talent to continue their basketball playing career in the US and abroad. Entering its 4th season, over 30 KBDL players have been sent on to play pro basketball in one form or another.
The Generals will play their first of five home games on Saturday, April 18th at 7PM against the Kentucky Thunder from Alexandria, Kentucky. Season tickets are $20 and can be used for any league game. Individual game tickets are $8 each.
The Clermont Generals still have openings for volunteers and interns. If you know of a high school or college student or a sports enthusiast looking to gain experience in journalism, public relations, photography, sports management, or athletic training, please contact Thom McQueen at kyhoops@fuse.net to discuss available opportunities.
