Mercy Hospital Clermont is in the midst of a $20 million dollar renovation and expansion project to meet the growing demand for medical services and programs in Clermont County. “Our improvements include a new main entrance, a three-story physician pavilion, expanded Intensive Care Unit, and new patient rooms,” said Mercy Hospital Clermont President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Shugarman. “This is the largest expansion project at Mercy since it was built 34 years ago.”
The new main entrance/atrium area encompasses a sweeping three-story, 20,000 square foot structure that serves as a welcome center with centralized services for patients and visitors. “We strive for patients and families to leave here with a feeling they have received expert care delivered with compassion,” said Shugarman.
Located on Hospital Drive near State Route 32 in Batavia, the busy medical center has received numerous accolades for its services, including being named as one of the 100 best acute care hospitals in the country. Physician satisfaction and patient care are also ranked among the best in the United States.
“We have an excellent working relationship with local government and economic development officials,” added Shugarman. “We are working collectively toward a common goal of addressing the health care needs of our citizens.”
Looking toward the future, Shugarman anticipates even more expansion for the hospital as the community continues to grow. “We anticipate a long term growth curve,” he says. “Mercy Hospital will be proactive in providing new medical services and programs to keep this thriving county healthy.”
