"Clermont County was a clear choice to locate our corporate headquarters because of its beautiful pastoral setting and the progressive way local officials worked with us in obtaining tax credits that made our site very attractive," said Melink Corporation President and founder Steve Melink, P.E. Housed in a 30,000 square foot "green building" located off Roundbottom Road in Union Township, the Melink Corporation is poised for steady growth in the years ahead.
"We have seen a steady 30% annual growth rate in our operations," said Melink. "The company started in the basement of my home in 1987, providing HVAC testing and balancing services. We later moved to Madeira, and then leased a plant in Fairfax with several operations elsewhere, before consolidating in Union Township." Melink has 30 employees based at the company headquarters at 5140 River Valley Road; an additional 35 technicians are part of a nationwide network. The company averages between $8-9 million in business, annually.
"Working with the restaurant industry and seeing the inherent energy waste associated with kitchen ventilation systems propelled me to search for a solution, resulting in the first and only variable-speed hood controls on the market," said Melink. The Intelli-Hood Controls can be found in restaurant chains, stores, hotels, and military bases around the globe. Clients include many national accounts, such as Outback Steakhouse, Applebee’s, Macaroni Grill, and Walgreens.
Melink is also proud of the facility that headquarters his business. Like the company’s innovative products, the open building structure was designed to conserve energy. "I believe this site is twice as energy efficient as a comparable size modern office building," said Melink. "This type of conservation is one way we can give back to our planet to have a sustainable life for future generations."
