"Clermont County is a great place to be," says John R. Nelson, Business Human Resources Manager at International Paper, located at 6283 Tri-Ridge Boulevard in Miami Township. "This location provides us with a skilled workforce, continuous infrastructure improvements, proximity to a major airport and interstate highway system, and has affordable high quality housing plus an excellent education system."
International Paper (IP) employs 68,000 people globally; it is the largest pulp and paper company in the world. IP is also the largest private owner of timberland in the United States. Locally, the company employs 625 at its three building campus nestled on 46 wooded acres near I-275.
"This campus has a product development center, a manufacturing technology center, and an information technology center," says Nelson, surveying the 400,000 square foot site. "We have a lot of engineering and high technology jobs here that provide the company with consultants. We also do a lot of research resulting in product improvements and advancements."
Nelson says the decision to locate in Clermont County in 1996 was the right one for this growing international company. He says the project came in under budget and on schedule, and he praised the support IP received from the county, the state, and Miami Township.
"The future looks bright for International Paper," added Nelson. "I am optimistic that the company will continue to expand internationally, and right here in Clermont County."
