Big Growth at American Micro

Pierre Paroz

"This is an immigrant success story," said Pierre Paroz, surveying the 140,000 square foot building that houses American Micro Products in Clermont County. "My father founded this company 50 years ago, steadily growing the business in Cincinnati. We were landlocked there, so 10 years ago we found the perfect place to expand our business near Batavia."

American Micro Products (AMP) is a global company, providing high precision machining services critical in manufacturing fluid power industry valves, small watch parts, medical and dental instruments and implants, and government electronics.

Currently employing over 250, sales have tripled over the past three years. "This year we anticipate $30 million in sales," said Paroz. "I believe the future is bright for AMP; the company is looking into constructing another building on site. Another focus is on international expansion including a plant that just opened in China and a joint venture in Malaysia. We need to have operations close to businesses we supply."

"Expanding our operations in Clermont County was definitely the right thing to do," said Paroz. "We are 20 minutes from a major airport, next door to a small commuter airport, and minutes away from a major interstate. We have access to everything Cincinnati has to offer, including professional sports, universities, amusement parks, and cultural events. We have all of this, and a river in our backyard! Where else could we find this?"

Paroz is also highly complimentary of those involved with Clermont economic development. "They welcomed us with open arms. Every time I had a question, they had an answer for me within 24 hours."

As for the workforce locally, Paroz is quick to praise the work ethic exhibited. "People here come to work, and they work hard. It is a skilled workforce. They have a passion for what they do, and they do it well."
