Aggreko is the official supplier of temporary power and temperature control solutions for the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver, Canada. The local servicing center in Batavia Township is part of the international team assisting in Vancouver. Local equipment and manpower have been on site since December 5, 2009 to ensure temporary power and temperature control at all of the 2010 Winter Games venues. Over 250 miles of cable is being used, along with 750 distribution panels, to supply a minimum of 34 megawatts of power generation and 31 megawatts of electric heat.
Aggreko's team of experts began the lengthy process of installing the complex array of equipment in September 2009. The dismantling is expected to take about two months after the festivities end.
Aggreko has a wealth of experience providing power and temperature control to high profile events including the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Super Bowl, Daytona 500, US Open, and presidential inaugurations.
