New Beginnings...The Complete Story of the Ford Facility Redevelopment
After continued dedication from Clermont County officials, the former Ford transmission plant sold to redeveloper, Industrial Realty Group (IRG) on April 1, 2010. The Ford story has been covered by news media outlets since the closure announcement over four years ago and continuing recently through announcements of the University of Cincinnati being the first tenant. In an effort to offer the complete story with the facts of how the redevelopment of the Ford Transmission Facility came about, the Office of Economic Development prepared a summary of the project. This summary contains facts on the history of the Ford plant in Clermont County, the County's participation in financing assistance to IRG, as well as the positive impact of the University of Cincinnati's UC East campus. With the UC renovations underway, IRG and Clermont County are actively marketing the remaining 1.7 million square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space. Now that the Great Recession is over, the 230-acre complex is positioned to take advantage of the oncoming economic growth. Click here to read the Ford Redevelopment Summary.
