The Child Wellness Center opened its doors on Ohio Pike in January 2006 with a mission to provide high quality childcare with a particular emphasis on children with special needs. It is Ohio's largest facility providing care to all types of children, including those with medical disabilities or behavioral needs. The Center is founded on the principle of social integration where therapy is integrated into regular classroom learning.
The center offers special programs with the Association for the Blind, bilingual classes, and on-site skilled nursing care. The Center grew out of the Child Wellness Fair, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping parents learn about the physical, spiritual, and emotional wellness of their entire family. Beginning as a fair that connected families with healthcare professionals, social workers, and educators, the Child Wellness Center was created as a campus that could serve the community year-round. More information about Child Wellness can be found at www.childwellnessfair.com.
