The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced in October that it has selected the Eastgate Professional Office Park as its new headquarters for safety inspection services in southern Ohio. The government agency signed a 10-year lease for an 18,000 square foot facility in Union Township.
The FAA plans to move its staff to 4358 Ferguson Drive in March 2007. These offices are located near I-275 and the Ivy Pointe Commerce Park. The site was selected in part because of its close proximity to I-275 and the quick access it provides to the entire Greater Cincinnati region.
An increase in staff necessitated the move, which will bring 51 employees with a $4 million payroll to Clermont County. Most of the employees in the southern Ohio district office will be safety inspectors; they are responsible for oversight of commercial, charter, and general aviation aircraft certification. The inspectors also monitor flight schools, maintenance schools, and repair stations.
