On June 20, the Ivy Pointe Commerce Park was launched with a ceremonial groundbreaking for its first tenant, Total Quality Logistics (TQL). Lt. Governor Bruce Johnson and Clermont County Commission President Mary Walker both spoke at the event, which was also attended by Clermont County Commissioner Robert Proud, State Senator Tom Neihaus, State Representative Joe Uecker, and the Union Township Trustees.
Ivy Pointe Commerce Park is a 100-acre Class A office park being developed in Union Township at the southeast corner of the intersection of State Route 32 and I-275. In addition to interstate frontage and convenient access to I-275, Ivy Pointe will be enhanced by significant road improvements to Ferguson Drive between Aicholtz Road and Clough Pike. TQL is erecting a four-story, 100,000 SF Class A office building that it will move into in January 2007. TQL currently employs a staff of 587 at its Miami Township location, to which it had added 25,000 square feet in 2003. Despite that recent expansion, growth at the third-party logistics provider proved so rapid that the company will soon need even more space. The company projects that it will have 700 employees by the end of 2006 and at least 1,000 employees by 2008.
Rapid growth has been a defining characteristic of TQL since its founding with two employees in 1997. The company's sales have risen on average by 50% every year for the past nine years. In 2005, it was recognized by both Inc. 500 and Fast 55 as one of the fastest-growing private companies.
The site plan for the new office facility provides TQL with the option to construct two additional buildings of the same size if it continues its breathtaking growth. TQL's building is the first construction in the Ivy Pointe Commerce Park.
