On June 14, Record Express and Cutting Edge Services received approval from Clermont County Commissioners for enterprise zone tax abatements for new construction. Both companies are planning to build new facilities in Batavia Township.
Record Express was founded three years ago by Bethel resident Nadine Albenze-Smith. While working as an attorney on large class-action lawsuits, she identified the need for document management and retrieval services. She launched the company, which immediately began its rapid growth. Ms. Albenze-Smith's business now employs 24 staff members and she anticipates adding at least six more in the next three years. To accommodate current and future space needs, Record Express will be constructing a new 7,200 SF building on Hospital Drive in Batavia Township. More information about the company can be found on Record Express's website at recordexpressllc.com.
Cutting Edge Services Corporation will also be constructing a 7,000 SF building in Batavia Township near the Clermont County Airport. The new facility became a necessity as the operation outgrew the basement of owner Tim Beckman's home. Cutting Edge Services provides specialty diamond cutting and drilling services. The firm uses diamond-embedded wire in massive demolition projects such as dams, nuclear power plants, or offshore oil platforms. Examples of past projects handled by the company can be found at www.cuttingedgeservices.com.
Clermont County enthusiastically welcomes these two new Batavia Township businesses. Please see the final article of this newsletter for more information about how to obtain an enterprise zone abatement for new construction.
