On May 23, Total Quality Logistics (TQL) announced its plans to build its new headquarters in Clermont County as part of a major company expansion. "I am pleased to announce that Total Quality Logistics (TQL) has selected Clermont County as the site for its new headquarters," said Kerry Byrne, TQL's executive vice president. "The new facility will be located at the Ivy Pointe business complex on Ferguson Drive in Union Township. We expect to move from our current facility in Miami Township by January 2007 and over the next three years expand our workforce from 400 to 1,000."
TQL is a premier third-party logistics provider that works with more than 2,000 companies nationwide to facilitate their truckload freight movements. It has experienced rapid growth; sales for 2006 are projected to reach $350 million, an increase of more than 80 percent over 2005.
"We selected Clermont County for our headquarters based on its close proximity to major interstates, the superb site for the facility, and the efforts by local, county, and state officials to make the decision even more attractive," added Byrne.
TQL will build a four-story, 100,000 square-foot office building, estimated to cost $15 million. Byrne said there is an option to build two additional buildings, if needed.
The announcement is the first of many that Clermont County anticipates as Ivy Pointe develops. The Board of Commissioners initiated development at the property in January when it purchased the first acreage for a 100-acre office park. "I am very excited that TQL has selected Clermont County as the first tenant in the new Union Township Class A Ivy Pointe business complex," said Clermont Commission President Mary Walker. "This is a successful company that we anticipate will be even more successful in the future."
"The campus setting will provide the foundation for the rest of the 100-acre complex," said Cincinnati United Contractors (CUC) President Chuck Kubicki, the developer of the site. "The project will include boulevard streets, enhanced lighting, public parks, and pedestrian friendly accommodations."
