On April 23, as part of National Small Business Week, the Clermont County Board of Commissioners recognized five local businesses for the valuable contributions they make to the community. "The small businesses we are recognizing are symbolic of the many that are thriving across the county," said Clermont Commission President Bob Proud. "We are happy to take notice of the many contributions these businesses make to our community, creating jobs and driving the economy."
Those businesses honored with a proclamation were:
- Bachman's, Inc., which provides HVAC services;
- Telema and Berger Resistors, which manufactures braking systems for mass transit trains;
- Dualite, Inc., a manufacturer of illuminated signs for nationwide distribution;
- HarvestINFO, Inc., a provider of web services to media companies; and
- Buffalo Wings and Rings, a restaurant franchisor and local restaurant operator.
Clermont Office of Economic Development Director Andy Kuchta noted that, "In Clermont County, we are seeing steady growth in small business ventures, their numbers increasing 10 percent between 2000 and 2005." There are currently over 26 million small businesses located across the country and 3,500 in the county.
