Penn Station recently announced plans to construct a new headquarters facility in Miami Township. The new building will be home to the management for the company with 182 franchise units throughout the US.
Jeff Osterfeld founded the first Penn Station restaurant in downtown Cincinnati in 1985 and by 1987 he had developed a franchising concept for the business. The company has become particularly well known throughout the Midwest and Southeast for its grilled cheese steaks, fresh-cut fries, and hand-squeezed lemonade.
The company plans to build a 10,000 square foot office headquarters building on US Highway 50 near Roundbottom Road. The $1.5 million investment will house Penn Station's current 14 employees and provide room for future hiring of at least four additional staff members. The company plans to begin construction in the spring.
The new headquarters will sit on 10 acres, which will accommodate significant future growth plans. The company is also considering creating a training restaurant on the property where it can train franchisees in all aspects of restaurant management.
